Maharaja of Mysore’s 1825 State Carriage is now up for auction



The Maharaja of Mysore’s 1825 State Carriage is in excellent condition, and because of its exquisit design and detailing, it is a masterpiece and a work of art of British origin. It is thought that it was last used in the 1927 Chamundi Religious Festival.
The olive green carriage boasts 16 drop-down windows, panels and shutters for privacy, and is embellished with delicate meander boarders, heraldic and floral motifs and the family coat of arms. The interior is upholstered in beige damask, the roof has decorative paintwork, and the exterior houses 2-seats for the usage of servants and courtiers.
It is expected to be auctioned at an astounding between $111,280 and $158, 960.
