Would you dish out over $300 on a pair of kids’ shoes? Well, Roger Vivier, the French fashion label, believes its affluent customers will be willing to do so, when it launches its “Juene Fille” line in March 2012. The brand famously designed a custom pair of luxury shoes in 2008 for Suri Cruise, when she was just two years old.
Roger Vivier is not the only brand that believes in the imminent growth of children’s luxury garb: Lanvinhas unveiled its own “Petite” collection that includes pop-up stores at the Pierre in New York City, the Metropole Hotel in Monaco and the Ritz Hotel in Paris.
While brands previously focused on making diffusion lines that offered kids’ fashion at lower prices, it now seems luxury customers have increasingly become their primary targets.
