LG just announced the design and details for the revolutionary 55-inch OLED TV. The full-featured HDTV will include LG’s passive Cinema 3-D technology, Smart TV Internet and a special browser that allows you to stream movies and surf the Web.
The screen’s resolution is bright and very saturated thanks to the OLEDS (organic light-emitting diodes). The plastic exterior was designed with carbon fiber to make it stronger but lighter, weighing only 22 pounds. The screen is 4 mm thick and the display base is bigger; the AV connectors were moved to the back and the USB ports are on the side.
The TV will be available in three mounting versions: table top, wall mount, and pole mount. The estimated price is between $10,000 to $11,300 USD and will be available in July 2012.
