After 12 years of research and testing, and inspired by the great adventures of Jules Verne, Cousteau and Piccard, the SeaOrbiter will finally begin its construction close to the end of this year.
This ship will measure 170 feet tall, with more than half of it swimming under the surface of the water to help it stabilize. It will be a 100% sustainable vehicle, with solar, wind and wave power, plus bio-fuel, just in case. Funding for this project is $52.7 million U.S. Dollars, and its purpose is to create a new relationship between men and the sea. This great adventure will show humans how our survival depends on the preservation of our oceans.
Not your every-day cruise to the Bahamas, for sure.
