Margaret Thatcher's Suits Sold for £73,000 in Christie's Auction

Beautiful suits worn by Britain's longest serving Prime Minister, Margaret Tatcher, during the 1970'2 were just auctioned at a Christie's auction in London, obtaining seven times the estimated price. These seven suits were worn by the "Iron Lady" at the beginning of her career as a political, when she was dubbed as "milk snatcher" or when she was introduced to the Conservative Party and when she served office as Secretary of State for Education and Science in 1970.

The auction highlight was a jade green wool suite by designer Mansfield, that was worn by Thatcher the day she was named leader of the Conservative Party in 1975. It was sold at $39,640 by an anonymous bidder; the other six suits were purchased by a South Korean online bidder, paying $76,100 for them.
